| Math Addition on Audio!

|
June 2009
This month's resource focuses on math addition. It consists of a series of audio files and flash cards aimed at improving basic addition skills of 1st and 2nd grade students. They may also help those just learning to add and parents can use the flash cards to reinforce addition skills at home. [Future resources will include work sheets and similar files for other basic math skills.]
Just Right Click on an audio file (.mp3 format), select 'Save' to store on your computer, and open later with your favorite audio player (iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc.). Right Click on a document file (.doc format), select 'Save' to store on your computer, and open later in Word. [If you are going to 'burn' the files to a CD, make sure the CD player is capable of playing .mp3's!]

Positional Language
Concepts 1

|
February 2009
Over the next 4 months I will be posting files that strengthen positional language concepts in young children. (ESL and other special needs students can also benefit from these exercises.) Each individual file has a picture, instructions and positional activities that will help develop an understanding of relationships between objects.
Because my students respond well to food, I use a finger food as a “marker” when giving instructions about the picture. I have used Fruit Loops and Cheerios in the past, and allow my students to eat the marker as they wait for the next set of instructions. However, some schools may not allow the use of food in learning activities -- so use something else for your marker.
Just Right Click on the file, select 'Save' to store on your computer, and open later with Word.
